Random Thoughts Friday. Holla!

by Coco on March 12, 2010

What a week!  This weekend proves to be just as exciting.  Tonight it is dinner with friends and then we are off to Weatherford for a huge barbeque for Bryan and Sara.  Sunday will bring us back to the Hill Country for Bram’s first T-ball practice.  On Monday, I will be meeting Mrs. Mack for cocktails and dinner and then, “Remember Me.”  I love date nights with Mrs. Mack

Spring Break is next week and my friend Maren and her little boy, Alex will be coming in for a few days.  Then BACK to Weatherford for Sara’s lingerie shower, which will be in my favorite city on the planet, FORT WORTH, TEXAS.  The kiddos will stay at my parents to be spoiled rotten.  It’s a hard life.

On with random thoughts!  Ready, set, go!

1) I hate milk so much that if I think it might not be good, I don’t smell it before handing it to my kids, that would make me vomit.  Instead,  I make Bram take a small sip and wait for a reaction.  Isn’t that awful?  He just asked for some chocolate milk (which is a rarity since he doesn’t like milk much either) and the date said 3/11.  In my head, that shit is rotten.  But maybe not and he really wanted some, so I gave it to him and wished him luck.  He didn’t gag so I guess it is still good.

2) Bram told us that he goes to “Preschool International” and that it is very “professional.”  When the hubs and I asked why it was so “professional” he said, “because we nap and we have lunch…..and play outside…..and cut with scissors.”  Sounds like a stellar International Professional small town Methodist preschool if I have anything to say about it.

3) This beautiful weather has put me in a mood that has me dreaming of unicorns and tooting puffs of cotton candy.  Every meal this week has been outside with the kids.  Hamburgers and steaks on the grill, sipping wine on the back porch with the hubs while the kids drive around for hours on their little John Deere.  High schoolers and old men fishing in the pond every evening.  The only thing about Spring that makes it more difficult for me?  Is keeping Tess in clothes.  Luckily, Bram has outgrown this. But Tess?  Not so much.

4) Yesterday, a friend and I jogged down to the lake and did some Power 90 moves on the dock.  It was an awesome place for a workout.  Lots of lunges, squats and ab work.  All the while, standing and looking at the water on a beautiful morning.  Problem is, I might of over done the squats and plies a bit.  I can hardly sit down without yelping in pain and Bram punched me in the thigh this morning and he is lucky I didn’t react and punch him in the face.  It hurt.  Bad.  And don’t ask me why my four year old punched me in the thigh.  Long story.

5) When I worked in downtown Austin, our office was across the atrium from a very large bank.  One day the bank got robbed.  I walked right past the bank robber on his way out of the building with a pistol and a bag of loot.  I had no idea the robbery had occurred.  It was a big deal and the police were asking everyone what they had seen and to try to give them some deets.  But I had just sharted in my pants and had other things on my mind en route to the ladies room.  Try explaining that one to the police.

6) Bram is obsessed these days with looking like “a teenager.”  Hubby made the terrible mistake of buying him several Under Armour shirts for t-ball.  If you don’t know what these are, please click on the provided link.  Hubby also made the terrible mistake of buying WHITE Under Armour shirts.  Guess who prefers these skin tight see through shirts to anything else in his closet?  You guessed it.  It is a great look for a 4 and a half year old.  Especially when worn with jeans that are a tad too short and flip flops.  Oh, and the shirts really aren’t white anymore and they are only a few weeks old.  This mornings look consist of, white Under Armour shirt, baggy basketball pants and Vans.  He came out of his room and asked if he “looked like a teenager.”  Please Lord help me.

7) The above picture is of Bram and his hiney in a pair of Wranglers.  MY BROTHER’S Wranglers from when he was 4.  I have had them thrown over a chair in Bram’s room since he was a baby.  Now he has discovered them and they are another staple in his wardrobe.  They are a little snug in the gut but he’s a “style over comfort” kind of guy.

And I paused.  Game over.

Y’all have a fabulous weekend.  I know I will!

omg, what fantastic pictures. Those big bowls of fruit make me HAPPY. Beautiful.

Having a 4 year old who prefers style over comfort is hilarious. I always get accused of being a comfort over style mom by my daughter. I think you’re either born with it or not. I wasn’t.

we had some fab strawberries last week – that pic is making me crave some more! On the milk thing – I make Mr. ESPN test it – I am not a fan of milk. Love the style over comfort – not sure what you are going to do as he gets older! Have fun back home!

I gagged just reading about expired milk! See you tomorrow! I went nuts over fresh fruit this week…it just seem right.

Lunges kill me everytime. Trying to sit down on the toilet is the worst after doing those!

I can’t even comment about the whole bank robbery b/c I think I’m still in shock about why you weren’t paying attention to a guy with a pistol and a bag of $$$. Oh my!

Have fun this weekend!!! I’ll be around, so call me if you get a break and want to grab a drink. You know…especially since your whole ‘no drinking’ thing is working out so well.

I am totally with you on the milk…I just did the same thing to GTO last weekend. I will seriously puke if I smell spoiled milk.

I am assuming that Tess and Bram will be in your brother’s wedding? I am thinking they might trump you on your moves down the aisle. :) Tessie might even turn all gangsta going down the aisle, and I am thinking Bram may want to wear Under Armour under his tux jacket. HA!

Enjoy your week!

of course bram wants to look like a teenager! don’t we all… ? :) lol to the preschool international… where does he come up with this stuff???

don’t forget to enter my giveaway! not sure what size tessie m. wears, but hey, it’s free clothes! :)

1. You make Bram test out the out dated milk….classic. Sounds like he’s a willing participant. It drives Ryan crazy that I throw things out that are expired. He always says they have at least another week.

2. International Preschool…Where does that child come up with this stuff? I love it!

3. Unicorns and toots of cotton candy? WTH!?

4. I need to do lots of squats….are we really this close to bikini season already?

5. Only YOU would be at the scene of a crime and come that close to the assailant but can’t do anything bc you just shart in your pants. Only you, Coco, and that, my dear, is why we all love you.

6. Why do boys love Under Armour shirts so much? There was a time that Trysten wore one almost every single day. We have so many of those damn things at our house that I started to hide them so they wouldn’t try to wear them to school! Bram is going to be such a little stud.

Why did you pause, ADD!? It was just getting good. Quit doing that.
I didn’t know you were weird about milk! I still drink it, but only organic, and pretty much only with cereal. I can’t smell it, touch it, or even dump it in the sink. Tony uses milk to mix his weird protein drinks that are supposed to help after a workout or something. He pours powder in there and then shows me. Forces me to watch. Chases me with it. One of these times I’m just going to barf on him. Or I could just feed him expired milk like you do Bram. That’d be great revenge.

i’m not big on milk either except in coffee and cereal. My mother hates it too and never made us drink it as kids unless it had that pink QUIK stuff in it.
Have fun at all the wedding parties!! Take pictures!

I’m weird about milk, too, only I’m opposite of you…I will actually drink it about 5 days past the expiration. And I’m still alive to tell about it….

I want to jog to the lake and work out!! Can I join?
The weather has been heavenly here too.. lots of outside time with the girlies… I just hate when we go in how freaking bad they smell… you know that outside kid smell… I send them straight to shower, and just now I am wondering if I smell too??

Have a good weekend!

HI-LAR-IOUS as usual….my child has been quite spunky lately….but your kiddos make me laugh. Ohhh the Bram, and his outfits.

Robin March 14, 2010 at 12:46 pm

I love your random Fridays, it almost makes me feel normal. Started doing some well needed workouts and also was very sore. Decided that my body totally needed to be working out or that I did something wrong and will never “sit” again. The lake sounds much better than working out in the living room.

Belle (from Life of a...) March 14, 2010 at 2:40 pm

I agree 100% on milk. Ick Ick and TRIPLE Ick!!

Live.Love.Eat March 16, 2010 at 8:07 am

Tooting cotton candy ~ you’re ku-razy! And so happy with this Spring stuff. Keep on going, maybe I’ll catch your bug!

Donna March 22, 2010 at 1:00 am

And I thought I was the only one who hated milk–my whole family thinks I’m crazy!
